just one unprotected encounter could cost you your health for a lifetime!
  • Syphilis : Caused by bacteria. Symptoms vary by stage: sores on the genitals, body rash, fever, swollen lymph nodes, or sometimes no symptoms at all. Transmitted through sexual contact or from mother to baby during pregnancy.
  • Gonorrhea : A common bacterial STD. In men: painful urination and pus from the urethra. In women: often no symptoms or abnormal vaginal discharge without itching.
  • Genital warts : Caused by a virus. Symptoms: raised, cauliflower-like growths, possible itching, pain, or bleeding. Often recurs. Spread through sexual contact or skin-to-skin contact.
  • Genital herpes : Caused by Herpes simplex virus. Symptoms: red, swollen sores, fluid-filled blisters on the genitals, inner thighs, or mouth, with itching, burning, and pain. May also cause fever, fatigue, or swollen lymph nodes. Heals in 2–6 weeks. Treated with antiviral medication, good hygiene, and rest to boost immunity.
  • Hepatitis B : Carriers often have no symptoms. Infected individuals may develop jaundice, dark urine, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and fatigue. Transmitted through sexual contact or from mother to baby during pregnancy.
  • HIV infection : A virus that attacks the immune system, leading to AIDS if untreated, which can be life-threatening. Can also be transmitted from mother to baby during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Simple but effective prevention tips :
  • Always use a condom during sex
  • Have a trusted partner and get regular checkups together
  • Get vaccinated against HPV and Hepatitis B
  • If you notice even mild symptoms… see a doctor immediately for testing
